Celebrities around the world alike are turning to DIY face mask recipes to give them the edge, whether it’s on the red carpet or snapped out and about. And DIY means we can all do it! To illustrate this, we borrowed a recipe from Victoria Beckham and Jenny tried it out for us!
The recipe:
1 Tablespoon of Mānuka Honey
50g of Organic Oatmeal
1 x Egg White
Instructions:
Mix it all together and apply to face for 10 to 15 minutes
The Verdict:
"I will certainly be doing this again! This face mask left my skin feeling great. I would recommend whisking the egg white first to almost merengue-like then adding the Mānuka Honey and Oatmeal. I used a warm damp face cloth, run under the hot water tap, to slowly remove the face mask. It added to the exfoliation process."Jenny from Northampton
As a humectant, Oatmeal is perfect for helping retain moisture in your skin. When used together with other skin-hydrating ingredients, such as Mānuka Honey, it will leave your face glowing. Oatmeal’s second power play comes in the form of an exfoliant. Its texture is effective in wiping away dead skin cells making way for new; promoting younger-looking skin.

The benefits of consuming Mānuka Honey have been much publicised, however the benefits of applying to the skin are no less impressive. Mānuka Honey is great for those with blemish prone skin or skin prone to redness, as it can help calm irritation, reduce redness and fight bacteria with its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory properties.
Honey isn’t just known for its antimicrobial activity, honey also creates a moist, healing environment and has the ability to absorb and retain moisture, therefore helping keep skin hydrated. The moisturising effect of Mānuka Honey on the skin also helps with elasticity and texture, making it a multi-benefit skincare ingredient.
Full of protein and albumin, Egg whites have skin toning properties and promote wrinkle-free skin. Women in ancient times used egg whites on their hair and skin as part of their beautification process. Egg whites are particularly good for oily skin since they help tighten pores.
